Patent Pandas

Patentpandas.org is a friendly legal resource that teaches patent law using panda comics, shares true stories and misadventures from everyday inventors, and connects creators with free legal help.

Despite being an open invention advocate, I ran into issues with patents. One of my crowdfunding campaign backers patented our work. After a job interview, my interviewers tried to patent my work as well. I’ve learned a lot about patents since, with the help of amazing lawyers from the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard Law School, MIT, the Suffolk University IP Law Clinic and the USC IP Law Clinic.

This website is my effort to share what I’ve learned with other independent creators, to empower them with knowledge of intellectual property and how to fight back through the legal system.
